Skin Grafts
The surgical procedure in which one piece of skin is taken from one part of the body and have set at the damage area of the body is called skin Grafting. Skin Grafting is done when the patient is under anesthesia and it takes time to surgery depending upon the damage site. Skin Grafting are of various types depends upon the severity of burn injuries.Pinch grafts are minimum quarter skin placed from donor site to damage site of the skin and it takes more then 24 hours to start running blood at damage site.
Split thickness grafts consist of some layers of skin and are add to the damage site of the skin It is more in length and wide and after this surgery patient have been dressed to not exposed to the air.
Full thickness graft are used at that places where the weight of the body is more and it consists of full layers of skin along with blood vessels and they are added to the damage site of burn injury and take from the donor place. This take also more then 24 hours to start blood in the damage site and running the function. It also take much time to recur from this type of injury of burn patient.
Dermabrasion :
The surgical procedure in which the burn area or damaged area skin is improved to reduce the scars and smooth the figure and shape of the burn area. In this surgery only the damaged skin is to enhance and improved but it will not remove the scars of the burns. This surgical treatment reduced the scars of burn but it will not removed completely from the body. Dermabrasion process take place running after mroe then 36 hours of the body and newly skin is growing to work and the skin became red and swallow and make itching to the patient which means that the new skin is started its process of growing.
In dermabrasion surgery if you feeling any kind of problem ask from your surgeon at first attempt to resolve this in early age.
In both Dermabrasion and Skin Grafts surgery patients have to take care of his damaged skin and not to work in which pressure have to be placed on the damage site as well avoid direct sunlight and patient have to completely rest for about two weeks and for more support the patient have to avoid any activity that causes pressure on the skin. After one year or two the patient burn skin is nearest close to his original skin.
